We just returned from the most amazing wedding and we felt we had to pass on our experience. Although everything turned out fantastic on the day and felt like all our dreams had come true this was not without some hard work and some hiccups along the way! We hope we can help some couples avoid pitfalls!We love Lagos, Portugal and have holidayed many times here. So when we decided to get married it had to be Lagos and the Tivoli hotel and its beach resort Duna Beach.We signed up with a main Algarve wedding planner in February 2012 to help us organise our wedding and all seemed to be going well. However on a visit to the Tivoli in October 2012 we found out that they had not booked the hotel rooms or even the venue Duna beach!! The hotel contacted their booking firm and the hotel was told that there would be no wedding in the Tivoli in Lagos in May.We were shocked and upset at this news as most guests had their flights booked and holidays planned. We immediately dismissed the wedding planner and with the help of our band, ‘Double Cocktail’ which we had booked ourselves and Luciana from the Tivoli, we organised our own wedding. The result was a wedding never to forget.‘Double Cocktail’ went well beyond the call of duty to assist us in our preparations. It was no surprise they are accredited as the best wedding band in Portugal and Spain, so good in fact they are now doing weddings in Ireland. If you are getting married they are a MUST!Luciana from the Tivoli Lagos was also superb and the attention to detail and excellence was unbelievable! The staff from the Tivoli were out of this world and the Tivoli hotel even supplied a magician as a surprise wedding gift to mingle with the wedding party before our 5 star meal.‘Manuel Neto Santos’ was our celebrant and he made our day so special with his beautiful ceremony and words.‘Yes I Do’ did our photos and again we hit the jackpot with them. Our flowers were done by Vera from ‘Aquaflor’ who done a very professional and artistic job.Over two thirds of our guests stayed in the hotel and others stayed in apartments nearby. ‘Yellow Fish Transfers’ did all the transfers and were very professional and reasonably priced.It is hard to believe how everything came together so well despite being so let down at the beginning by our wedding planner. If you are stuck with a wedding planner make sure you have everything in writing even if you have paid cash for it as when family and friends have flights etc booked you are then at the mercy of these wedding planners and extras are often then added. We also felt we had to write to let future couples know about an ideal place for a wedding…. Easter weekend

atfer a busy week with emails and meetings its time to relax for the Easter weekend. On Monday the last preparations for our wedding at the gorgeous Vila Vita Parc the coming week...HAPPY EASTER everyone!

Monday 25th march 2013,

We got up in the morning and it was raining....oh no!..... our first wedding of the season and it had to rain? this cant be happening?! At around 11.00am we got ourselves to the venue Grande Real Santa Eulalia Hotel where we started to unload the equipment and still raining.
However with the outside ceremony stating at 2:00pm we had hope the weather would change and after checking the weather.com we were crossing our fingers they would be right about it.

The happy couple asked us to perform "Somewhere over the rainbow" as their special wish for bride entrance and it was pretty close to having a rainbow right there and then, as at 1:00 pm an hour before the actual ceremony started, we saw the sky opened up and the sun came out.....

After a wonderful touching ceremony the guests had cocktails on the terrace and it really made everyone forget how the day started off that same morning, wonderful dinner followed outside on the Le Club terrace and after the first dance the guests didn´t leave the dancefloor from the begiining of our show untill the end ...whooohoo what a great way to start the season!!

Hello Season 2013

The Wedding season is about to start this week. Winter season is over and we cant wait to get the ball rolling ´despite the weather being a bit unstable, we have our fingers crossed for the popular Algarve sunshine for our first Algarve wedding couple of the season, the sunshine after all being one of the main reasons why so many brides and grooms decide to get married abroad.

At the Grande Real Santa Eulália we know what to expect, it will feel like a warm bath seeing the staff again after the winter break. 

The fabulous Le Club delivers the guaranteed environment to party! Vamos!
